Learning Undefeated is applying our award-winning Breakout Box to the booming field of biomanufacturing, with a new immersive learning experience for grades 9-12.
In a collaboration with the BioPath @ TMC, Learning Undefeated has custom-designed the Breakout Box: Biomanufacturing Mission which puts students on the front lines of medical treatment development. Upon boarding the futuristic immersive learning pod that travels right to their school parking lot, students assume a junior technician role at a state-of-the-art biomanufacturing facility, training on how cells are grown to produce therapeutics.
As they work quickly to follow a treatment from the laboratory to the patient, students learn aseptic technique as well as Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP) used in the high-stakes world of therapeutics and drug development. High school students learn about Houston-area biotech careers and experiment with game-based logic to build critical thinking, collaboration, and computational reasoning skills.
This is Learning Undefeated’s second collaboration with the world’s largest medical center; in 2025, Learning Undefeated transformed the Mobile eXploration Lab into a bioprocessing clean room so that students would learn aseptic technique and the importance of sterility in the biomanufacturing process. Two new laboratory activities were custom developed for this partnership to emphasize how biomanufacturing transforms industries like medicine and advanced manufacturing.
