We will partner with schools, industries, government agencies, and entire regions to meet the moment and bring powerful STEM learning wherever it’s needed. From biomanufacturing to engineering design, from disaster recovery zones to long-term school system partnerships, our work stretches across states, sectors, and learning styles.

Our in-house educators design active hands-on curriculum that directly complements academic standards, helping schools deepen learning and spark lasting STEM engagement. Whether we’re launching a statewide mobile STEM lab network or co-creating a custom program with local partners, we rise to meet each challenge with creativity, collaboration, and heart.
(And we can prove it: when we needed to create a manufacturing education program the world had never seen, our team rolled up our sleeves, grabbed our tools, and flexed our manufacturing muscles to get the lab in gear!).
Emphasis on Active Community and Corporate Engagement
Learning Undefeated works hand-in-hand with communities, companies, and government agencies to make STEM education deeply relevant and widely accessible. Our partnerships aren’t just checkboxes — they’re collaborations that shape programs, build capacity, and create opportunity.
We teamed up with the Texas Education Agency to launch a statewide network of mobile STEM labs that’s now reaching hundreds of thousands of students across all 20 education service regions. Or collaboration with the world’s larges medical center brought high schoolers into the world of biomanufacturing, complete with protein purification and cleanroom protocols. Across the South, we’re working with the Port of Corpus Christi to introduce high school students to careers in port logistics, using game-based learning and augmented reality.
We also partner with powerhouse industry leaders like AstraZeneca, Northrop Grumman, Caterpillar, and the U.S. Department of Defense — organizations who recognize that supporting future talent starts with inspiring students early. Whether we’re co-creating curriculum, hosting community STEM nights, or running summer career programs, we build each initiative to reflect the needs, strengths, and goals of the people it serves.
OUR HISTORY
Learning Undefeated began as a bold idea: What if we brought the lab to students?
Founded in 2003 (known back then as the MdBio Foundation), this tenacious nonprofit launched the Capitol region’s first mobile bioscience laboratory — a 45-foot trailer outfitted to give high schoolers real wet lab experience in their own school parking lot. That early spark of innovation grew into a national force. Over the next two decades, the organization expanded its fleet, evolved its curriculum, and deepened its mission.
In 2019, MdBio officially became Learning Undefeated — a name that reflects the relentless belief that every student deserves the chance to discover their potential, no matter their background or circumstance.
Our first mobile lab, MdBioLab was launched in 2003 with the goal of exciting 10,000 Maryland high school students about biology & STEM careers each year.
The country’s largest mobile STEM lab for education, the Mobile eXploration Lab was christened in 2017.
Still on the road after 24 school years, MdBioLab is a single-expandable trailer built to model a wet lab environment.
Designed for disaster recovery, our compact Drop Anywhere Labs are built inside a 22-foot shipping container.
Launched in 2025, the Breakout Box makes manufacturing careers fun through immersive gameplay and a heist challenge.
In 2025, our Texas Mobile STEM Lab program has expanded to a fleet of nine vehicles, each serving 30 schools every year.
The Explorer Lab is a one-of-a-kind mission to Mars, housed in a 45-foot former airport bus!

Learning Undefeated programs are funded by grants and partnerships and thus completely free for students, schools, districts, and communities. This is a critical piece of our commitment to making STEM accessible.
Unbound by Geography! We Will Come to YOU!
Our mobile labs and programs —along with the teachers who implement their curriculum — travel anywhere. From rural towns to urban centers, disaster zones to remote campuses, we have our road trip playlist ready! We bring the STEM, you supply the students!
Programs Actually Run DURING School Hours
Unlike many programs that are only summer or after-school, we deliver programming during regular school hours, integrating seamlessly into the academic schedule for maximum access and impact, and giving teachers a break as we create a field trip in the parking lot.
