MdBio will be participating in the B’More Healthy Expo at the Baltimore Convention Center on March 18, 2017 from 10 AM to 5 PM, offering tours of our new Mobile eXploration Lab as well as several hands-on activities throughout the day.

Build a Race Car
10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Start your engines and get ready for the science of speed. Learn basic physics concepts and leave your friends in the dust as you create your own rubber band powered car from virtually nothing! Suitable for all ages (children under 14 require adult helper).
Make your Own Slime
11:00 AM and 11:45 AM
Get ooey and gooey while exploring chemistry. Kids create their own slime while learning about the science behind polymers and non-newtonian fluids. Suitable for ages 5+ (children under 14 require adult helper).
Explore STEM Careers
12:30 PM and 1:15 PM
The Baltimore region is a hot spot for careers in biohealth and information technology. Come and learn about companies that are hiring and the skills that are needed to join this fast-growing field. Suitable for ages 15+.
DNA in your Kitchen
2:00 PM and 3:00 PM
Have you ever wondered what DNA looks like? Participants will extract DNA from fruits and vegetables using everyday materials that you can find in your kitchen.
