Corpus Christi, TX [September 24, 2024] — Nonprofit Learning Undefeated and the Port of Corpus Christi announce that their collaborative partnership, the PORT-Able Learning Lab, has been awarded the Grand Prize: Corporate/Nonprofit Partnership of the Year category of PR Daily’s Nonprofit Communications Awards.
The PORT-Able Learning Lab is a traveling learning and event activation that engages students, teachers, and families in an immersive and totally unique learning exploration. Built inside a shipping container, the lab and custom-designed Breakout Box: Environmental Mission software sparks interest in STEM careers and raises awareness about the environmental stewardship story of the Port of Corpus Christi. During the 2023/24 school year, the PORT-Able Learning Lab visited 19 schools across San Patricio and Nueces Counties (Texas), preparing over 5,000 students for STEM career opportunities.
“The PORT-Able Learning Lab is shaping student attitudes and building awareness of maritime career pathways by letting students know that there are great jobs waiting for them right here in their hometown,” said Learning Undefeated’s Chief Marketing Officer Janeé Pelletier. “Igniting interest in STEM and maritime jobs across the Coastal Bend, our PORT-Able Learning Lab is reinforcing our efforts at the Port of Corpus Christi to cultivate the workforce of the future,” added Rosaura Bailey, Director of Community Relations for the Port of Corpus Christi.
PR Daily’s Nonprofit Communications Awards shine a spotlight on the meaningful work that teams are doing to advocate for, build awareness of, or raise funds for important nonprofit causes, initiatives, or organizations. The organizations were honored during the Nonprofit Communications Awards ceremony on September 27 in New York City.
