Some Texoma students got to go for an educational ride without leaving the school’s parking lot.

On Tuesday, November 4, Holliday Middle School students stepped aboard the TEA Learning Undefeated Texas Mobile STEM Lab and into a world of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Hands-on activities, like interactive learning and expertly guided experiments, where they discovered, explored, and created.

The Texas Education Agency grant, written by Holliday eighth-grade science teacher Angela Miller, stated that one of the school’s several goals for the students is for them to not only have fun but also love learning from the challenges STEM presents to them.

“As a science teacher, I hope that they have a greater love of science. Some of the students who like science think it’s really hard, and I want them to know that it can be a challenge. But it’s amazing. Science can take us a lot of places.”

Students were hands-on building bottle rocket trucks and presented with the challenge of getting them to move a certain distance. Learning Undefeated TEA is a partnership between the nonprofit Learning Undefeated and the Texas Education Agency.
