Teachers can now apply to receive one of 270 Texas Mobile STEM Lab visits, with nine mobile labs traveling across the state
Dallas, Texas (DATE, 2025) – Learning Undefeated, a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming STEM education through experiential learning, has begun a major statewide expansion of the Texas Mobile STEM Lab program. This week, the second of eight new traveling laboratories will begin serving Texas students with stops in Cedar Creek, El Campo, and George West.
Funded by a series of grants from the Texas Education Agency (TEA), and thanks to overwhelming teacher demand, the Texas Mobile STEM Lab program is growing from a single traveling lab to a fleet of nine for the 2025/26 school year. This program expansion will provide mobile laboratory visits, staff, instruction, and supplies to 270 Texas schools annually. Since 2020, the Texas Mobile STEM Lab program has already given hands-on STEM learning opportunities to nearly 25,000 Texas school students.
The expansion is powered by Learning Undefeated’s newly established custom fabrication shop in Mansfield, Texas, where eight new high-tech mobile labs are being outfitted for STEM learning. These futuristic mobile classrooms bring hands-on STEM experiences directly to school campuses, eliminating barriers and inspiring curiosity in K–8 students.
Onboard the labs, students participate in engineering design challenges while teachers gain familiarity with the interdisciplinary curriculum so that they can present it in their own classrooms. Teachers can choose from 16 activity modules, all aligned to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills.
“The Texas Mobile STEM Lab expansion will bring innovative learning to hundreds of new schools every year, deepening the impact in Texas communities, far and wide” said Brian Gaines, CEO, Learning Undefeated. “By delivering a mobile lab right to the school doorstep, all students can have the chance to imagine themselves in the STEM careers of the future.”
Teacher applications are now open to request a mobile lab visit for the 2025–2026 school year. The deadline to apply is May 31, 2025.
