Maryland high school and college students can create innovative solutions to healthcare challenges such as chronic-decease management or patient-provider information exchange through a competition organized by MdBio Foundation, the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business Center for Health Information and Decision Systems (CHIDS), the Maryland Health Tech Coalition and leading information technology companies.
In Maryland, health-related public budget spending accounts for over 25 percent of all state expenses. Innovations in health technologies, systems and processes can save lives, promote healthier communities and significantly increase our quality of life.
Innovate 4 Health is a competition in which teams, made up of high school and college students, develop solutions to a current healthcare challenge using innovative technologies and processes. After choosing a healthcare challenge to address, student teams will work with a mentor to design a solution that they will submit for judging.
Professionals from the health IT industry are anxious to mentor student groups. Contact us to be connected with a mentor.
First round submission are due early April 2015. Student teams will compete for glory and cash prizes.
